Not like the originalOct 14, 2008 I got my Oster blender from my parents, they got it in the 70's as a wedding gift. I wanted to replace the pieces but the plastic is much more cheap than the original and the top is a hard top instead of the old rubbery one. It gets the job done, but don't expect it to last like the original ones!

Oster Replacements Jun 18, 2008 I ordered these replacement parts for another piece I dropped and shattered. Like all Oster products, they are great and make very smooth margaritas and smoothies every morning. The plastic is just like the glass, except it's lighter and I can take it to places that do not allow glass.

ReplacementApr 04, 2008 This gets only a 4 Star rate because it is made in MEXICO....and not the USA....outsourcing STINKS...
I have an 1978ish White Original Osterizer Galaxie dual range 10 speed Blender, my Mom won in a Chili Cookoff in 1978 and gave to me then brand new as she already had one. I am still using that same blender. I need to replace the black screw on band as over the last couple years it has finally deteriorated and now leaks. I rarely washed it in the dishwasher, usually hand washed. I still use the Original glass and the original rubber lid. I took care of it and guarded its use. I am sure this Original Osterizer will last beyond my lifetime as it is a workhorse. I never abused it or left it running too long. Because of not being able to use it due to the leaking, I purchased a new Osterizer Blender 16 speed at costco last week. I do not think the main on and off switch will last very long. Poor design there. My Husband used it first to make a Smoothie, with no complaints and now that he has retired he is spending time in my kitchen, driving me nutty but trying just the same. I am purchasing this set up as it will fit my old Galaxie Model. At least Osterizer didn't change the fit of those parts...and honestly all of us are lucky they kept the sizes the same, for replacement. Many companies just move on to some newfangled sizes forcing us to purchase a new unit. Thanks Oster for that, but, MADE IN AMERICA is still the BEST CHOICE....Many of us would spend more to keep the same quality as the Original parts.....all you NEW designers keep that in mind. Don't fix it if it's not broke......

Works like it's supposed to.Dec 13, 2007 I had to replace the old one when someone left a spoon in it, then the blender was turned on. Uh oh! This one works fine. The blades are VERY sharp. Good for ice, frozen fruit. The lid is a hard plastic, not like the pliable rubber that originally came with the blender. But I use the original lid anyways, so it doesn't relly matter.

Broke before 1st UseMar 23, 2007 Made in mexico of thin and cheap plastic. Not original quality of parts. Jar cracked after washing in the dishwasher 1st time. Had to throw away. Bought new Kitchen-Aid blender instead.
